There is an old story about two builders. The first was in a hurry. He found a flat, easy spot on the sand and built fast. It looked fine. It looked finished.
The second builder took longer. He dug past the sand, past the soft ground, all the way down to rock, and built there.
Then the rain came. The rivers rose, and the wind beat against both houses. The house on the sand fell, and great was its fall. The house on the rock did not move, because it was built on a sure foundation.
It looked fine until the rain came. Then it fell.
The builder dug down to bedrock. When the storm hit, the house stood.
